Petrov signs for City

Some Spurs fans are concluding that Spurs were never in for him. They cant believe for a second he would choose them over us, considering his mate Berbatov plays in Lilywhite and considering we have UEFA Cup football and are generally in a far better state then they are ( City are are rebuilding from scratch).

If we were genuinely not interested then, why? He plays with Berbatov at International level. He has a proven track record. He's a big game player. And he's available.

If we were genuinely interested in him and he rejected us, then this simply illustrates that we dither far too long with signing players.

The left-sided 'problem' remains unresolved. I await to say what all the 'In the Know' gollums have to say about this 'nearly' signing.

Over hyped. Talented but dodgy knee. Spurs fans were exicted because they were linked to him, which usual follows massive dollops of hype that see the player (in their eyes) become three times the player he actually is. He isn't half as good as they think he is. Good, but not great. I bet anyone £20 he gets injured 2 months into the season.

Disappointed on the one hand, but maybe because we were linked to him. Much like we were linked to Duff. And looked how that turned out.

Do not write us off! Sven is breathing life into a sleeping giant!

Sleeping? More like six feet under. And before you bite, we are in a coma, so at the moment its probably the same difference.

Spurs offered £30k a week.
Man City offered £60k a week.

Simple math.

Theres no difference with us and Tottenham. And now with SGE we can push for top six. Petrov wont go to a club on equal pegging if the other club offers more money. He's made the right choice.

PETROV:

"My choice is not only about money but football questions too. Simply, I need to play and I believe I would get more minutes for City than Tottenham.

"I did speak with Dimitar Berbatov and he tried to convince me to join Tottenham but our ways will be different in England. He is a friend but has accepted my decision"

I don't believe him.
