Today will be madness

If you take a quick look around the message boards and Sports pages you'll find the following gathering pace:

Keane coming back
Lennon to Liverpool

Bent leaving

Quaresma on loan

Jenas to Inter

Bringing Robbie back is embarrassing. We are bailing out Liverpool and the player himself. If we lose Lennon as part of the deal I'll be absolutely livid with the club. There is no guarantee that Keane will be the same player he was without Berbatov by his side and let's face it. He must be a little bit damaged by the experience. Boyhood dream in tatters. I'd rather take the risk in whether Lennon will develop into a player with end product than wonder if Keane will be able to reclaim his past Spurs form. Aaron is also much younger than Robbie.

Bent leaving is a strange one. We love to hate Darren. Sometimes, he appears to do nothing in a game. But he does score. He's a bit fragile, so maybe not the right type of player mind-set we need at the moment. I'd still rather hold onto him for now. You know. In case of another injury.

Quaresma is also a strange one. Talented with plenty of unfulfilled potential. Never settled in one place. Is he built for a relegation dogfight? How long will he take to bed in? And if you want to believe that Jose wants Jenas in exchange as part of a loan deal, then this transfer window has officially been tagged as loopy. Apparently, according to Jose, Ibrahimovic is more of a team player than Quaresma. Ouch.

What concerns me is that we haven't looked to actually fill the gaps. I guess apart from the left-wing position, if the Inter lad signs.

"We need strength, big players" - We buy lickle Jermaine. Who was carrying a knock and might now have a broken foot.

"We need people who want to play for this club and know what it means to put on the shirt" - We re-sign Chimbonda. Good olde loyal Shimbomba.

"We need a holding midfielder" - We sign Palacios. Who has 'everything in a midfielder I want' but isn't technically speaking a holding midfielder. Add to the mix, Zokora who Harry wants to continue playing which would then mean that we plan to continue lining up with a 5-man midfield. And if that's the case......do we need to keep spunking so much on forwards?

I'm frustrated. As much as you are, I'm sure.

Arshavin has apparently flown back home today having arrived in London yesterday. Not that Levy would dare place a cheeky bid for him after the summer fiasco with Zenit. Did Arsenal ever stand a chance in signing him? Considering how tight they are and how money obsessed Zenit are.

As I type this apparently Liverpool want Saviola and Spurs are interested also.....but Spurs are willing to back off if the Anfield club give us Robbie. These type of transfer bluffs seem to be happening with alarming occurrence.

I've stuck some popcorn in the microwave. Snowed in. Sky Sports ticker day for me.

Saviola? Keane? What is it with us and shortarses?

Are we signing this Andrew HaveAShave then?

To be honest I'd rather not have that irish bloke Bobbie Deane back... even with Jeremy DuffNow injured.

Levy should re-bid for AA. If they only want £15M upfront and we plan to pay that amount to Liverpool, we should screw Liverpool over and spend the cash on the Russian.

Or have I lost my marbles?

Whilst we're on this run of resigning players how about Sol??? OK I'm only joking but we could do worse. I hear we may be signing Blanchflower & Hoddle too.

spurs should stop pishing about with mediocre players and over paying them, with what we spent in transfer fees alone we could have bagged ourselves a serious player like arshavin instead we are too tight

Spooks. You stuck home? Central Line was a mess this morning. At least you can keep track of all the usual crap we have to face on deadline day.

Keane is far more likely than Arshavin. I think he is still set for Arsenal. Zenit and the Goons are probably just bluffing each other until one of them gives way.

Saviola, no chance in hell. Doubt we are interested. Not what we need.

Queresma is a typical Spurs signing. Would be great if we were sat in 6th spot. Not so sure stuck down towards the bottom.

Don't want to lose Lennon or Jenas.

Not going to enjoy today. Can wait for it to be all done and dusted.

Why why why did we not pay the money Zenit wanted in the summer for Arshavinn?

FROM THE BBC

1136: Some sketchy transfer deadline details. The Premier League are "exploring the possibility" of extending the deadline with Fifa and the Football Association. Nothing is clear yet but it could well be that deals will be able to go through after 1700. Watch this space.

Plenty of time for a ton of mistake to be made.

We didn't pay Zenit in the summer because they wanted £20M up front. They only want £15M now. Easily affordable.

I'm uncertain about Arshavin.

Can't see us getting rid of anyone important now. You'd have to be a lunatic to get rid of Lennon. Bent & Jenas nearly turned the game round for us on Saturday. If anyone goes it will be in a summer clearout. If we get relegated they all go if not maybe one of the other 2...? I'd like to see us get Santa Cruz but doubt it will happen.Looks like Keano's coming back. If it doesn't work out between him a& Defoe once he's fit again we can always sell him to...Portsmouth???

Nobody is leaving. At least no in the way of 1st teamers.

Keane in, maybe one or two others on loan. That will do us.

Its then down to the manager and players.

We ned a reliable left back who does not turn his arse on the ball every time a player shoots or crosses and a left winger who can tackle as well as deliver a ball. A proven prem striker who can hold the ball up and score goals is a must this aftrnoon. Arshavin left mid would be a top signing but we missed that one in the summer, he will end up at a*****l.

Mixed feelings if robbie returns, love him as a player however:

1) im not sure he is what we need at the mo. Big target man required, and
2) He did walk out on the club not long afetr saying he wanted to stay forever.

We would be bailing him and liverpool out of the mess they are both in regarding robbie and the 20 million they spent on him last summer.

Come on Spurs, give us something to smile about today, we are all shitting our pants at being relegated and need a saviour big time!!!
